£5 Banknote Launch

In anticipation of the release of a new £5 banknote, the Bank of England is used the Blippar app to give an exclusive augmented reality preview.
Scanning any existing Bank of England banknote, the general public could instantly see an interactive sneak preview of “The New Fiver” as it appears right in the palm of your hand!
The campaign created awareness around the arrival of the new five pound note. While educating the public about the new security features, core benefits and modern design of the new fiver through Augmented Reality.
The user scans any bank note in the UK through the Blippar app to reveal the new fiver on their screen. The landing page will include five main features as above: take a selfie with the new fiver, a link to the campaign website, a countdown timer to the release of the new fiver, and security / design features, and the brand video in the centre.
GIVE A HIGH FIVER
Think SnapChat video style. A fiver is in the corner of the screen. Take a photo of yourself holding it. On launch, it animates and moves to the front of the screen with your hand. Noise like a ‘high fiver’. What you’ll share is a quick six-second animation of your ‘High fiver’ to the #thenewfiver
